<p>Create a campaign using all of the above rock icon&#8217;s from the &#8217;90&#8242;s, and you have perfection with side of hardcore only Slimane is keyed into. And one beautiful campaign.</p>

<p>The makers of high end and luxurious handbags, Louis Vuitton, just become a touch more elite. After raising prices by an average 12 percent in Japan last month, they have also increased the prices of non-leather handbags in most of their main markets since the start of the year. Their hot-selling Speedy and Neverfull bags became more expensive by 10 percent in the euro region, U.K. and U.S and by 5 percent to 10 percent in Asian markets including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.</p>
<p>Louis Vuitton has taken the decision to increase prices of their non-leather bags in a bid to battle currency fluctuations and this analysis has been made by HSBC. Despite this, it has been predicted that the French luxury label’s sales may rise by 6 percent but volume decline 2 percent to 3 percent in 2013.</p>

Granted; Marilyn Manson certainly has a style all his own. Good bad or otherwise it&#8217;s a style!</p>
<p>Creating buzz of controversial sorts is Saint Laurent’s latest announcement. <span id="more-16491"></span>It seems the French luxury label has pulled a fast one by announcing rocker <strong>Marilyn Manson</strong> <strong>@MarilynManson</strong> as their new ambassador for the label’s menswear line. An unlikely and unexpected option if there ever was one, the middle-aged rocker musician in all his gothic glory seems to have already wrapped up the first ad campaign for the label.</p>
<p>While many are questioning creative director Hedi Slimane&#8217;s latest brainwave, it’s actually not completely off-track given Slimane’s obsession with the 90s, and musicians in the recent past (don’t forget Beck was the last face of the brand). With an image via designer <strong><a href="http://nicolaformichetti.tumblr.com/post/46577231434#_=_" target="_blank">Nicola Formichetti’s Tumblr roll</a></strong>, we leave you with these questions:</p>

<p>Interviewing Dallas I asked what inspired him to bring something unique and different to LAFW.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are living in a world where brand building is about emotion, about energy, this is what defines you and when you wear clothes that have energy in them, you transform the moment you slip them on. We bring in a collection of designers who are daring. We look for them whether 16 year old designers like Courtney Allegra, or Party Pants Designer Nadine Casanova who stepped out on the runway with dancers, fire, and acrobatic stunt people.&#8221;</p>
<p>Bringing the best of all world&#8217;s Dallas featured diversity on the runway. Interpix Fashion Live  featured five designers who were intensely different. Courtney Allergra, Aros Crystos, Honey Be Life by Nadine Casanova, STYLZ by Alena Dawn, Precise Momentum, and the very elegant Josette Couture.</p>

<p>Some brought sexy, some brought fire dancers and some brought stuntmen to the runway. I was impressed, inspired and little jacked on adrenaline. It was the highlight of my fashion week.</p>
<p>Momentum Live isn&#8217;t all about flips, kicks and fire dancing. They are about awareness as well. In 2012, Victoria&#8217;s Secret, created a nasty controversy by featuring a woman wearing a male Indian chief&#8217;s headdress in their annual fashion show. Pissing off people proving they didn&#8217;t do their cultural homework. Where they left off Dallas took over.</p>

<p>Dallas and Beverly Hills eco designer Aros Crystos joined up to bring Native American culture and tradition to the runway. Aros actually gave up his runway show so amazing Native American models like Wambli Eagleman, Sunny Red Bear, Maxton Scott, Tasha Clark, Elaine Meyers, Natika McDonald, Taywanee Reevis, and Saginaw Grant, could walk the runway in place of his model&#8217;s.  This attracted Native American celebrities like actor Rick Mora (Twilight),</p>

<p>Los Angeles Fashion Week was insane, original and even philanthropic this year thanks to Dallas &amp; Parris Harris&#8217;s behind the scenes, hard work. They created a completely different kind of event that set LAFW apart from the rest. Fast Lane was beyond happy with the results and glad we could take part.</p>
<p>Intepix Fashion Live and Momentum Live plan&#8217;s on take fashion further by creating a multi-platform, engaging community where buyers, designers, sales, showroom&#8217;s and more will all be connecting. We hope to be included and can&#8217;t wait to see what happens next.</p>

<p>Elements of extreme roller skating, &#8217;90s grunge, and the notorious band of bikers in Hell&#8217;s Angels can all be found in Gilded Age&#8217;s men&#8217;s collection for fall. The runway show appropriately took place at Chez André, an underground karaoke club in the Bowery neighborhood of New York City. This neon pink-infused environment combines rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll, fashion, and a twinge of destruction— making it the ideal stage for luxury designer Stefan Miljanic&#8217;s latest collection.<span id="more-15435"></span></p>
<p>Male models donned slim skinny jeans in a variety of hues, all made of high-end Japanese denim and casually finished off with chunky combat boots. Channeling modern-day warriors and the rebellious youth of our generation, the <b><a href="http://gildedage.net/" target="_blank">Gilded Age</a></b> collection was inspired by cult hits such as <i>Blade Runner</i> and <i>Mad Max.</i></p>

<p>Nearly every model was outfitted with a sleek leather jacket or vest— each in a variety of neutral tones— layered over graphic tees, thick-knitted sweaters, or fitted double-faced shirts in solids and plaids. Chainmail shirts were paired with perhaps some of the more interesting accessories we&#8217;ve witnessed this season: knee pads, shoulder pads, chest pads and elbow pads.</p>

<p>As part of its sustainability efforts, Levi’s has launched jeans made with cloth incorporating material from recycled plastic PET bottles, and is endeavouring to reduce the amount of water used in the H2O-intensive denim production process. The jean giant is seeking to play its part in a sustainable fashion revolution by introducing denim incorporating plastic consumer waste and revamping its production processes.</p>
<p>James Curleigh rather likes his new jeans, even if they are made of plastic. For all that, they’re still pretty comfortable. If you’re imagining a few lumpy bits or a scratchy section, think again: these jeans are part of a new collection made with<span id="more-15428"></span> denim incorporating consumer waste, specifically, recycled plastic PET bottles, around eight of them per pair. These are broken down and, ultimately, produce a polyester thread that can be woven into denim.</p>
<p>So far, so greenwash. Curleigh is the new global president of his company. And the point is, he stresses, that that company is Levi’s. “There are brands out there making the most sustainable jeans ever made but the problem is that, as much as I’d encourage them in what they do, they can’t scale up to make a real difference,” says Curleigh, a long-haired, guitar-loving dude who joined Levi’s from Keen Footwear. And he isn’t kidding: the first run of the first season of the new, so-called Waste-Less line is 400,000 pairs. “And we’re in a leadership position to encourage other brands to make similar moves.”</p>

<p>It would be worth the effort — and not least in financial terms: cotton is not only an environmentally hazardous and expensive crop, but its price is so volatile that long-range planning for clothing companies is now tough. Certainly, denim is not the most environmentally friendly product, even allowing for the fact that, as Curleigh only half jokes, in some senses it’s the most sustainable clothing around: unlike fast fashion products, a pair of jeans is worn for years and then converted into cut-offs or finds demand on the second-hand/vintage market. But there are, for example, the chemical dyes used for mass production, which the industry has done much to address.</p>
<p>What it hasn’t, until recently, been able to tackle is the truly vast amount of water it needs to make its ubiquitous fabric. Levi’s — which in the US has a public image as a far more progressive company than it is perceived as being around the rest of the world — has also addressed that by combining several wet stages of the finishing process into one. The result? The company used some 360 million fewer gallons of water last year. A couple of years ago, Levi’s also started using new tags explaining to shoppers how to wash their jeans properly too — in short, less often.</p>

<p>Even so, Curleigh concedes that Levi’s is never likely to pitch itself as an out-and-out eco brand. “I don’t think it will ever lead with sustainability, and we’re not going to say ‘hey, check us out, we make jeans with waste’, because that only invites the response: ‘yeah, and you still ship your jeans half-way round the world’,” he says. “But the company does have the obligation and the opportunity to find better solutions — because what it does is big enough to matter.”</p>
<p>That and because sustainability, he argues, is the “edge of the modern front” and the edge — whether that be pioneering the great west, being at the heart of US industrialism or a symbol of the fall of the Berlin Wall — is where the company has historically been. “We’re talking now about a change of culture of such significance that our kids will look back and say, ‘when all that sustainability stuff was going on, what did you do, dad?’”</p>
<p>Sure, Curleigh says, maybe most consumers won’t be that into Levi’s Waste-Less products. The collection, which feels and looks indistinguishable from the all-cotton products, also features a trucker jacket and women’s skinny-fit jeans. Some, he agrees, the real denim-heads, will be downright upset by the seeming affront to a pure product — “they’ll say it’s like topping up a Guinness with a Sprite — just wrong”. But the few who do buy into it will, he reckons, be opinion formers. It’s about spreading the word.</p>
<p>“There’s a change of attitude coming,” says Curleigh. “The younger consumer now knows that sustainability and sustainable clothing are the right things to buy into. But is it the cool thing to do? I think it will go the way of smoking. Smoking was cool but now to not smoke has become cooler. Sustainability will be cool.”</p>

<p>Legendary Italian sports car marque Lamborghini turns 50 this year, and to help celebrate the brand is launching a new luxury fashion collection that encapsulates its motto of “a hundred years of innovation in half the time.”</p>
<p>The sexy, high-tech <strong><a href="http://www.lamborghinistore.com/" target="_blank">Collezione Automobili Lamborghini</a></strong> for Spring/Summer 2013 will feature many items embroidered with Lamborghini’s new 50th Anniversary logo, along with the years &#8220;1963–2013&#8243; on polo shirts and sweatshirts. Reinforcing the link between the clothing and the cars themselves, design elements inspired by the brand&#8217;s signature details— such as the hexagon and the Y-shape of the Lamborghini Aventador’s rear light clusters— are used throughout the<span id="more-15422"></span> line. The colors of the Italian flag are also widely used to pay homage to the country&#8217;s iconic European style.</p>

<p>The complete range of apparel and accessories includes T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, bomber jackets, down vests, ties, belts, driving gloves, and Lamborghini-branded footwear. Rucksacks, messenger bags, tablet and smartphone cases make up the accessories range with certain pieces finished in the same carbon fiber and leather found in the interior and exterior of Lamborghini&#8217;s supercars. All of the items are made in Italy in collaboration with textile developing and manufacturing company, O-Range, and are offered in both monochromatic colors and a camouflage pattern.</p>
