All the countries have a national anthem, well this is the Rock ‘n Roll Worldwide Anthem, realesed on Dressed to Kill, this song is one of the most famous song of the band, the song said all, you have to Rock ‘n Roll all Night, and Party Everyday, with the famous drum intro, same as “Anythink for my Baby” also realesed on Dressed to Kill.

The studio version of the song peaked at #57 on the Billboard singles chart, besting the band’s previous charting single, “Kissin’ Time” (#79). A subsequent live version released as a single in October 1975, eventually reached #12, the first of six Top 20 songs for Kiss in the 1970s. Since then, it has become Kiss’s most identifiable song, and has served as one of the group’s closing concert numbers in almost every concert since 1976. In 2009 it was named the 16th greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1.

“Rock and Roll All Nite” was written by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons while Kiss was still in Los Angeles, as part of their Hotter Than Hell tour although during the groups concert at Cobo Hall in Detroit on January 26, 1976, Stanley states to the audience before the group begin the song that it was written in and for Detroit. The tour ended early (February 1975), when Casablanca Records founder and president Neil Bogart ordered Kiss to return to the studio to record a follow up to Hotter Than Hell, which had stalled on the charts and failed to meet Casablanca’s sales expectations. One of Bogart’s instructions to the band was to compose an anthem, something he felt the band needed. The song itself was inspired by the Slade song Cum on Feel the Noize, and is often referred to as the Rock And Roll National Anthem (for instance, Stanley states during Kiss’ performance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards that “there’s only one nation, that’s Kiss Nation, there’s only one Rock & Roll national anthem: Rock and Roll All Nite, party everyday!”)

Stanley wrote the chorus, and Simmons wrote the verses, borrowing parts of a song he had previously written, entitled “Drive Me Wild.” The song was one of two the group recorded toward the end of the Hotter Than Hell tour, prior to returning to Electric Lady Studios for the proper Dressed to Kill recording sessions. For the choruses, the band and Bogart brought in a large group of outside contributors to sing and clap, including members of the Kiss road crew, studio musicians, and Peter Criss’s wife Lydia. Some of the road crew used their jacket zippers to create sound.

“A Nightmare On My Street” was the third single from hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s second studio album, “He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper”. The song became a crossover hit in the U.S., reaching #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. “A Nightmare On My Street” showcased a fictional confrontation with movie villain Freddy Krueger.

The song was considered for inclusion in 1988′s “A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master”, but it didn’t make the cut. The song was released as a single by Jive Records in early 1988 on vinyl and audio cassette tape, coinciding with the release of “The Dream Master”. New Line Cinema, the studio responsible for the “Nightmare” movies, was not pleased.

A video allegedly shot for the single was buried, and a disclaimer was hastily included on pressings of the album indicating that the record was not officially affiliated with any of the “Nightmare” films. As a result, some original pressings of the album contain a disclaimer sticker stating the song is “not part of the soundtrack . . . and is not authorized, licensed or affiliated with the ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ films”. Ironically, Jive Records ended up releasing the soundtrack to the next film in the series, “The Dream Child”.

“He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper” was the second studio album by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The album’s first single, “Parents Just Don’t Understand”, won the first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance. In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source magazine’s 100 Best Rap Albums.

Oh yeah… DJ Dave Stylus (@DaveStylus) over at Mix966FM dusted off the classic crates, and broke with this 80′s mix up! I present to you all the DJ Dave Stylus Friday Quick Mix we takin’ back to the old school, and those of us here in Los Angeles will get it this, but we’re taking it back with some classic KROQ! High Speed Diva Kaki West appears in the May 2010 Digital edition of the magazine and has also done scorching shoots for Playboy, FHM, and numerous other publications! We thought this would be a good way of adding that 80′s flare to this week in photos!

Continuing our 80′s throwback week, we bring you this horrific video of Stevie B Dreaming of Love! Yes back in the 80′s our music videos for the most part sucked, but it was fun! Stevie B (Steven Bernard Hill) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was influential in the Latin freestyle and High-Energy, mostly from Miami dance music scene of the late 1980s. Also known as the King of Freestyle, Stevie B is perhaps best known for his 1990 number-one hit “Because I Love You (The Postman Song).” So check it out and show some love!

The year was 1990, and you couldn’t pass a club without hearing this joint blasting from within the building, and of course out of the speakers of cars and mini-trucks all over the place! For me personally this takes me back to when I was going to Tijuana to club because, well we just weren’t 21 yet! Fanny packs, neon clothes and shiny shoes ruled! Back in 1990 Rap group 2 Live Crew came out with their hit album nasty as they wanna be which launched the hit single ‘Banned In The USA’ about being arrested in Broward County Florida (Like that’s a surprise) for putting on a “morally objectionable” show for a crowd of people 21 and over!

Our Thursday Throwback is one that most people have no idea ever happened! It’s Michael Jackson from the 1986 3D epic made exclusively for Disneyland and Disney World! Captain EO was at the time the absolute best 3D feature ever made and featuring Michael Jackson in the title roll and acting legend Angelica Huston as “The Supreme Leader” looking a lot like the Borg Queen but I digress.

The story and screenplay were written by George Lucas, Rusty Lemorande and Francis Ford Coppola; and was directed by: Francis Ford Coppola. Check the video after the jump!
