“I Wanna Rock” is a song from the album Stay Hungry (1984) by American heavy metal band Twisted Sister. In 2009 it was named the 17th VH1 Greatest Hard Rock Songs by VH1. All the countries have a national anthem, well this is the Rock ‘n Roll Worldwide Anthem, realesed on Dressed to Kill, this song is one of the most famous song of the band, the song said all, you have to Rock ‘n Roll all Night, and Party Everyday, with the famous drum intro, same as “Anythink for my Baby” also realesed on Dressed to Kill.

The studio version of the song peaked at #57 on the Billboard singles chart, besting the band’s previous charting single, “Kissin’ Time” (#79). A subsequent live version released as a single in October 1975, eventually reached #12, the first of six Top 20 songs for Kiss in the 1970s. Since then, it has become Kiss’s most identifiable song, and has served as one of the group’s closing concert numbers in almost every concert since 1976. In 2009 it was named the 16th greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1.

“Rock and Roll All Nite” was written by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons while Kiss was still in Los Angeles, as part of their Hotter Than Hell tour although during the groups concert at Cobo Hall in Detroit on January 26, 1976, Stanley states to the audience before the group begin the song that it was written in and for Detroit. The tour ended early (February 1975), when Casablanca Records founder and president Neil Bogart ordered Kiss to return to the studio to record a follow up to Hotter Than Hell, which had stalled on the charts and failed to meet Casablanca’s sales expectations. One of Bogart’s instructions to the band was to compose an anthem, something he felt the band needed. The song itself was inspired by the Slade song Cum on Feel the Noize, and is often referred to as the Rock And Roll National Anthem (for instance, Stanley states during Kiss’ performance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards that “there’s only one nation, that’s Kiss Nation, there’s only one Rock & Roll national anthem: Rock and Roll All Nite, party everyday!”)

Stanley wrote the chorus, and Simmons wrote the verses, borrowing parts of a song he had previously written, entitled “Drive Me Wild.” The song was one of two the group recorded toward the end of the Hotter Than Hell tour, prior to returning to Electric Lady Studios for the proper Dressed to Kill recording sessions. For the choruses, the band and Bogart brought in a large group of outside contributors to sing and clap, including members of the Kiss road crew, studio musicians, and Peter Criss’s wife Lydia. Some of the road crew used their jacket zippers to create sound.

There are few songs that have had and continue to maintain the power after almost forty years to tear the roof off the club like the Sugarhill Gang’s infamous ‘Rappers Delight’! As a DJ this was one of the go to songs when the club or party was running a little slow. Oddly enough almost everyone knows some of the lyrics even though they don’t know the name of the song or the name of the group that sang it!

Don€™t Mess With This Missionary Woman!!  The Eurythmics song€™s music video for the song ‘Missionary Man‘ was another in a long line of innovative clips from Eurythmics. It received heavy play from MTV back when they actually played music videos and featured stop-animation techniques similar to those used in Peter Gabriel€™s groundbreaking €œSledgehammer€ clip. Another prominent feature of the video was the removal of several key frames of film, which produced a jerky, robotic effect.  €œMissionary Man€ earned the duo a US Grammy award for €œBest Rock Vocal Performance €“ Group€.

Very few songs on the planet have ability to make normal, non stripper type women want to get up on bars and stages, and gyrate obscenely while removing articles of their clothing. AC/DC You Shook Me All Night Long has that ability!

Every time I hear this song I can’t help but think of running around Tijuana with my sister’s best friend who we started calling Shooter because of doing a legendary 30 shots in a row and off to dancing. 30 shots is the legend, it was more like 7. Throwback Thursday – Paula Abdul – Cold Hearted

Before Paula Abdul was judging and apparently sleeping with contestants on the hit television show American Idol, she herself  went from being a Los Angeles Lakers girl, and back up dancer and choreographer in Janet Jackson’s videos to being a chart topping artist in 1988! This week’s Throwback Thursday hit seems real timely with the high volume of chicks who keep hooking up with douche bag guys and then cry about it. Don’t say you weren’t warned!

Cold Hearted hit the airwaves back in 1989 and became that summer’s warning for women everywhere. “Girl, he’s cold hearted”

Our first Throwback Thursday is Johnny Gill Rub You The Right Way.  Johnny Gill (born May 22, 1966) is an American R&B singer-songwriter. He is the sixth and final member of the R&B supergroup New Edition, and was also a member of another supergroup called LSG; with Gerald Levert (RIP) and Keith Sweat. His signature song “My, My, My” has been included on numerous romantic compilations.

I remember the first time I heard @RealJohnnyGill on the New Edition N.E. Heartbreak Album, singing “Can You Stand The Rain” I couldn’t help think that he sounded like a young Teddy Pendergrass.

Adam Ant  topped this week’s poll for the Fast Lane Lifestyle Magazine Thursday Throwback with “Room At The Top” which hit airwaves back in 1991. Not sure if it was one of his top hits or not but we sure like it. Check out more information about Adam Ant and watch the video after the jump!

“Adam Ant” (born Stuart Leslie Goddard, 3 November, 1954, Marylebone, London) is an English musician who gained popularity as the lead singer of New Wave/post-punk group Adam and the Ants and later as a solo artist, scoring ten UK top ten hits between 1980 and 1983, including three No.1s.

Ant was also a star in America where he not only scored a string of hit singles and albums, but was once voted sexiest man in America by the viewers of MTV. He is also an actor, having appeared in over two dozen films or television episodes between 1985 and 2003.

This song is from the year 1988 off of Dave’s third solo album “Skyscraper”.  It pretty much sums up the exact way I felt that year! I was a senior at Lake Elsinore Union High School or Elsitraz as we called it. And this song was blazing up the airwaves and MTV. Yes youngin’s MTV used to play music videos!

This album has a little more art feel and technicolor too it than David’s previous solo album “Eat ‘Em and Smile!” which gave a really glam, hair metal feel too it. Check it below!
