According to The Beaver County Times, 19-year-old Travis Clawson was scheduled to have an appointment with his optometrist, but he didn’t pick up the phone when they were checking on his arrival. The receptionist believed his greeting to callers—which sampled a line from the DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince collabo—said “shooting some people” or in other words, mistakenly taken as a threat. The actual line from the song is “chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool/ shooting some b-ball outside of the school.”

The receptionist instantly was concerned and called Sewickley police, which eventually made it to Ambridge school officials. This prompted schools to engage in a countywide lockdown since they didn’t know where Clawson was at the time. Later on in the day, police authorities found him in the guidance office of his school where he was taken into custody.

As the Times points out: “James Mann, acting police chief in Ambridge, said Clawson was interviewed by police and he told them he meant no harm and that his message was just him imitating Will Smith’s rap intro to the show that ran on NBC from 1990-96 and now is rerun on ABC Family. All six seasons also are out on DVD. District Attorney Anthony Berosh said it was determined after listening to the message closely that it did follow the Quincy Jones-penned song and Clawson was released.”

The moral of the story? This proves that parents are getting more far removed in pop culture references than ever before. Maybe next time an incident like this happens, they’ll be a little bit more hip to Will Smith’s rap intro.

I couldn’t figure this one out just looking at it, and had to wonder if the Chinese were seriously building this. Was it a Stargate? A portal to another dimension? Just in general what the hell were they building here! Turns out as fate would have it, our friends in the land of food that has you hungry again in 30 minutes spend $16 Million dollars building this giant ring!

Maybe they were trying to compete with the St. Louise Arch with this 515 foot monstrosity that doesn’t seem to serve much of a purpose. Apparently there are four elevators to take people to the top of this thing. It’s made of an astounding 3,000 tons of steel and it will glow at night—decorated with 12,000 LED lights.

The metal structure is located in the the city of Fushun, in northeast China’s Liaoning province? Ever heard of it? Nope neither had I. But you know it now huh?

Snipers will really appreciate the following but according to Fushun Municipal Government’s officials, this gigantic structure does absolutely nothing except serve as an elevated sighting position. Isn’t that what Skyscrapers are for? They claim it is pretty “landscape architecture”—like the Eiffel Tower. It uses four elevators to take people to the top.

It takes a lot to earn the moniker “World’s Worst Criminal” these days but 18-year-old Keithan Manual appears to be the new title holder.

Keithan walked into a Wilmer, TX police station with a white towel over his hands and told the officer at the dispatch window to “give him all her money.”

The dispatcher, Patricia Hughey, just laughed it off. Because, honestly, who would try to rob a police station?

Perhaps sensing that he hadn’t thought his plan all the way through, Keithan quickly changed his story and tried to play his demands for money off by saying he was asking about a warrant instead.

According to Police Chief Victor Kemp, “He said he’d like to check on a warrant, but it was pretty obvious it was a situation … he gave a different name and after a few moments of maybe playing it off he said ‘you do know I have a gun’. At that point he seemed to be very serious.”

That’s when the Hughey realized that Manual wasn’t joking and notified other officers that there was a situation, and they took Keithan down at gunpoint with no shots fired.

When asked about the incident, Keithan tried to play it off like telling someone you have a gun and demanding their money is a hilarious joke.

According to Keithan, “I didn’t say nothin’ like that, I swear to God I didn’t say nothin’ like that. That’s why they didn’t find no guns on me. Man, I play like that all the time. I didn’t think she would take it seriously.

Police Chief Kemp added, “This young man wasn’t using his head for sure,” he said. “You hear of those World’s Dumbest Criminals every once in a while but you never think it’s gonna happen in your city.”

He’s so stupid they should execute him, or at least sterilize him so that he doesn’t breed.

Apparently there are three types of cuts these days. Other cuts, Super Cuts, and well Ghetto Cuts. There are also just some people who need to be taken out and beaten in classic Rodney King fashion.

Who told these morons that this was even close to being cool? I suppose one might say these idiots are ghetto fab. Worse thing is that there are girls out there who can’t wait to jump into bed with these morons.
